Examinations in Aeronautical Engineering
Examinations are held on semester system. There are two semesters in every year.
SECTION A (SEMESTER I, II, III, IV)
There are 10 compulsory subjects in this section

SECTION B (SEMESTER V, VI, VII, & VIII)
Candidates who have passed section A examination of the Aeronautical Society are eligible to appear in the section. In addition candidates who possess a degree in Engineering are also eligible but they have to apply for subject 'Introductions to Aeronautics of section A also,
without which they will not be allowed to take up the section B exam.
Candidates have to choose one of the 4 streams. There are 7 subjects in each stream.
The 4 streams are:
- (1) Aero Mechanical
- (2) Avionics
- (3) Maintenance and Production (Electrical)
- (4) Maintenance and Production (Mechanical)
The Aeronautical Society of India organizes practical training of 4 to 6 months duration on No Cost, No Payment basis is Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Air India, Indian Air Lines, Pawan Hans etc. This training is not compulsory for issue of certificates to those who have completed section A & B examinations and passed.
